In 2005 Murcia Health Service established the Dementia Unit. It was to become a reference in the region of Murcia in the field of neurodegenerative diseases.

The Dementia Unit's aim is to provide Dementia patients with a comprehensive and a multidisciplinary care, a continuous service (for both patients and families) during the development of the disease.
The Unit offers a wide range of services in different fields:
Patients (specialized health service and memory workshops)
Families (personalized psychology service, training courses for caregivers and group therapy).
Community (Training and research)
